Get to Known Drunk Driving Prevention System

Now a days road accidents are the  major issue  facing all over the world. More than 37,000 deaths happen because of  vehicle collisions. You need to know that drunk driving is fatal. This is because of the nature of the job – driving involves proper  ordination between the brain and muscular system. In a drunk driver the the coordination is poor or fails to happen, which might result in fatalities. In view of this reality, manufacturers have come up with a new technology. We'll discuss it briefly in this article.

How drunk driving prevention system works
The drunk driving prevention system is equipped with three types of monitoring systems. They are
  • Detection using alcohol odor sensors
  • Detection using  monitoring system
  • Detection from the drivers behavior
Detection using alcohol odor sensors
  • In this is system, a high sensitivity alcohol sensors are built in the steering wheel to detect the presence of  alcohol on drivers hand as he/ she is attempting to start the car.
  • Through a  high sensitivity sensor, the level of the alcohol is detected and if the alcohol level exceeds the acceptable level, it automatically switches off the transmission system.
  • An alert or message is sent to the driver through the navigation system.
  • One of the additional features of the alcohol odor sensor,  is that these are incorporated in the seat of the drivers and the passenger to detect the level of alcohol inside the car.
  • If the alcohol level exceeds the predefined level, it sens the alert or message through the navigation system monitor.
  • It also sends the information and tightens the seat belt around the driver.
  • While fixing alcohol odor, make sure that it should detect within a short range. Else, there would be a problem of halting car while you are going near by a wine shop.
Detection using monitoring system
In this is system, a camera is fixed on the instrumental cluster, or directly in front of driving seat.
The camera monitors the facial expression of the driver.
It is used to calibrate the driver's state of consciousness.
It detects the state of driver through the blinking of the driver's eye.
When the camera detects the drowsiness of driver.
A sensor is arranged to the camera, it sends voice and message alerts through navigation system.
It also alerts the seat belt mechanism.
The seat belt mechanism immediately tightens the seat belt around the driver.

Detection from the drivers behavior
  • In this system, The sensor detects the state of driver and behavior of driving.
  • The sensors senses if the vehicle is drifting out  from it lane.
  • The sensor identifies the signs of detraction.
  • If the vehicles is distracted from its driving lane, with the help of the navigation system it sends noise and message alerts.
  • It also sends the information to the seat belt mechanism, alerting to tighten it around the driver.
Advantages of drunken drive prevention system
  • The driver cannot start the vehicle, if the alcohol level exceeds the acceptable level .
  • The high sensitivity  sensors  detects the alcohol directly
  • This sensors are simple in construction.
  • They detect the level of alcohol more accurately.

What is Car Leasing?

Most of us get confused about leasing and renting. But there is a lot of difference between them. Renting a car means, giving it for a short period of time, say about 2-3 hours, while leasing means giving the car for a longer period, it may be months or years.

When leasing the car you need not pay the actual price of the car, instead you only have to pay for the period of lease. Leasing has become very popular because many people cannot afford buying a car and leasing helps them to pay only for the use of the car.

Benefits of car leasing
Leasing is in practice in many developed countries like US and UK. Car leasing is a good choice for those who have passion for driving wide range of cars and cannot afford to buy them. Leasing adds more advantages than buying a car, like low monthly payments, tax deduction for those who lease a car for their business purpose under Consumer Leasing Act, etc.

Some companies offer insurance cover for leased cars, which is an added advantage when the car has some wear and tear or meets with an accident during the lease period. You will enjoy all the luxuries that a car owner enjoys during the lease period.

Leasing is chosen by many people because it has low monthly payments when compared to buying a new car. You can drive wide range of new cars, luxury cars and also used cars.

Things to keep in mind before leasing the car
You should be sure on certain things like can you afford leasing, can you pay monthly installments on time, will you be able to continue till the end of the lease agreement, etc.

Mileage of the car is an important thing to considered while leasing a car. In US, only 120000-150000 miles per year are allowed for car leasers. If you drive more miles than this limit, then you have to pay penalty at the end of lease.

As we discussed earlier, people who lease cars for business purpose have the advantage of tax deduction. They can enjoy driving new and luxurious cars available in the market.

Leasing can be a bad option for those who want to lease the car for more than 2 years or who have driven extra miles or for those who fail to maintain the car, because penalty should be paid.

Leasing has both pros and cons, but still it the choice of most people and has gained popularity in countries like US and UK.

Advantages of All Wheel Drive

All wheel drive is same as full time 4 wheel drive and 6 wheel. This is system in which drive powers are supplied to all four or six wheels of a vehicle at all times. This configuration can be useful feature in cars, trucks, and SUVs, these vehicles can be driven under some challenging conditions. These are some advantages of all wheel drive vehicles. Such as:
  • The main advantage of the all wheel drive is traction. In this all wheels are capable to drive the vehicle forward. Though one or two wheels lose traction because of slippery surfaces like ice, snow or mud, It can continue to drive in case of all wheel drive configuration. When front wheel starts to slip then drive power is directed by some or all wheel drive car and minivans to rear-wheels of the vehicle, so this part time application of traction is useful when it is needed.
  • Another feature of all wheel drive configuration is performance. Advantage of additional traction is taken by sports cars to achieve faster acceleration times even on dry surfaces. In all-wheel-drive configuration, steering is also improved.
  • Another advantage of all-wheel-drive vehicles is better weight distribution. More consistent handling is provided by better weight distribution.
  • Generally, all wheel or four wheel drive systems are used for many trucks and SUVs for off road use feature. This off road capability of the vehicles can allow the vehicles to drive over uneven terrain. Vehicles which have this configuration can move on muddy surfaces or through shallow water.

Tips For Car Tire Safety And Maintenance

Tires plays major role in the car safety. Tires are the only physical part that touches the ground. The proper tire maintenance will improve the fuel efficiency and also improves the car safety.

The tips for tire maintenance and safety are:
  • Air pressure: Air pressure is important for car safety and maintenance. The air pressure in the tires should be checked regularly and also the spare one. It is important to maintain appropriate air pressure in the winter and summer season, as the air has ability to expand at the hot temperature and contract in the cool temperature. The proper inflated tires will provide greater mileage, better handling, and prevent accidents.
  • Tire Rotations: Rotate the tire every 5000 to 8000 miles. The rotation of tires will avoid the replacement and providing better performance and longer tire life. If the engine is in front of the car, the front tires will wear more than the behind ones.
  • Evaluations: Check the air pressure and tread wear regularly. Inspect your tires with removing stones, nails, or glass that may be blocked in the tire grooves. Inspect the tore side walls.

When you are driving, if tire suddenly fails don’t apply brakes immediately. It is safe to decrease the car speed then apply the brakes and stop the car.
