Want To Know About Paper Towels?

A paper towel is made from absorbent paper rather than cloth. It is also known as tissue paper. Today paper towels are dominating in every place such as in the kitchen, toilet, houses, offices, vehicles, restaurants or cafes etc.

It is also used to wipe the dirt from our hands. It is not only used for wiping but also it can be used to clean the table, wrapping precious stones and jewelry etc. But it is providing so much volume of municipal waste in the areas wherever these tissues are largely used.

Paper towel was first invented by Arthur Scott from a collection of rejected toilet papers and made these toilet papers into smaller sized towels and sold it. In 1930s, paper towels were used in kitchens around the size of 13" x 18".

These papers are just used once and disposable in nature. We can say that there is no chance of reusing and risk of spreading illness to others where in case of cloth it happens. We can classify the paper towels according to their properties like strength, absorbency, weight and thickness. They are available in different colors and classified on domestic and institutional usage.

Two types of paper towels are there:
1) Folded
2) Rolled

Folded paper towels come with bi-fold or a multiple folds. Many people use rolled paper towels because it comes in single layers. While manufacturing, the towels are divided into different paper products. White paper towels are bleached using chemicals or a natural process, depending on the brand. Paper towels with a light brown color are semi bleached or unbleached.
