Do Multivitamins Affect Brain Function?

The body gets vitamins to stay healthy and nutritious and these vitamins should be supplied in a natural way that is, by eating and drinking the vitamins contained foods or drinks.

There will be some situations in which there will be a need of more vitamins like during pregnancy, or for growing children. There will be some other situations in which we cannot supply the vitamins to our body through proper diet, our bodies can't absorb vitamins from the food we eat, in this condition how can we supply vitamins to our body? The solution is through multivitamins.

Multivitamins are the vitamins in the form of capsules, tablets, injections or oral liquids which are prescribed by a doctor or health care provider in relevant doses for the people who are not in a position to receive or obtain vitamins through general or natural diet and for the people who need in extra amount depending on the conditions (like pregnancy, growing children).

Multivitamins are taken according to the prescription. Generally, they are prescribed to take once or twice a day. The users have to take into account the side effects, although they are prescribed because some vitamins cause allergic reactions, skin rashes, digestive problems etc.

The people who are already under other medication should talk to their doctor because some vitamins will have interference with the drugs and causes adverse reactions.

Multivitamins help prevent vitamin deficiencies. Depending on the age, the digestive levels slow down and the consuming levels of food also come down, which result in receiving small amounts of food, causing vitamin deficiency. And vitamin deficiencies cause adverse affect on the functioning of the brain.

Vitamins B are generally used to improve the functioning of the brain, to improve memory, to improve concentration and focus, to make the brain cells function normally to convey or receive the message from other parts of the body.

Vitamin C is also useful in improving brain functioning. It acts as an antioxidant and it helps to prevent the damage caused by the free radicals. Free radicals can damage the cells in the brain. And thus improves the memory, to maintain the proper functioning of the brain.

Multivitamins are the easiest and simplest way to supply essential vitamins to the body as well as the brain. But they should be taken under the supervision of the doctor or health care provider in limited doses and thus preventing the deficiencies.
