Why Should You Take Care About Your Sitting Position?

Body language and sitting positions are important because, they convey the information to others. Standing with arms crossed indicates sense of being 'closed'. It also shows anger, obstinacy and assertiveness. Your feet play an essential role in communication. As a general rule, if you are standing or sitting and are attracted to someone, eventhough if you are not talking with them, your feet will be pointing in their direction.

You can control your body language when you are aware of it. Stage actors are perfect example of this; when an actor is trained, one of the first behaviors learned is how to convey emotion with your body. Not just the face, but the whole body.

Rubbing the back of the head indicates that you're reassuring yourself when distressed it shows impatience. And standing on the hip indicates monotony or vanity. When hands are hold closed together it indicates humility and high esteem.

Like wise there are various meanings for various gesticulations. You may be surprised if you read those. I suggest you to go through those and know how to behave in a group, or in an interview, or in a business meeting, or even when you go out for a dinner date!
