Toyota out Beats Gm's 77 Year Reign

With its struggle to survive the recession at present, the General Motors has another bad news. It is no longer the world’s auto industry leader. Toyota has surpassed the General Motors the previous year and thus took the crown from General Motors.

Though the General Motors celebrated its 100th anniversary the previous year, it didn’t expect that it would end its 77-year successful reign in such a tragic way, the same year. At present the General Motors is struggling to restructure with a $13.4 billion bailout form U.S government.

It is just one week back when Toyota declared an annual 4 percent decrease in its business with 8.97 million sales for 2008. General Motors released its poor annual results of 8.35 million vehicle sales, down 11 percent compared to the previous year. Thus the great General Motors of U.S have yielded to its Asian rival Toyota with about 620,000 lesser sales.

Segregation Rises in US Schools

US is going to have the first Black President. People have elected him in spite of all the racism of the nation. But what we see here is that racism is still going on in US schools and has even rised.

In a study from University of California in Civil Rights Project, it was found that the Black and the Hispanics are increasingly segregated from the White students of the school. This segregation even increased since the Supreme Court has declared voluntary desegregation in 2007.

This decision, taken by Supreme Court on Voluntary desegregation, helped local authorities to promote school desegregation. This rather intensifies the trend.

I thought that people are now not much concerned about racism, since they have elected Obama as President. It is pity to be ill treated in an educational place, just because you are not white in color. Let’s wish this leaves our country very soon.

Food Crisis Will Hit Billions on the Earth

What are you going to expect the world to be by 2100?

Skies with traffic of flying cars, tours to other planets, hi-tech gadgets, roaming robots.

But it also means increased pollution, global warming and what is worse is the severe food crisis that is going to hit almost half of the worlds’ population.

According to a study by the US journal science, the temperatures are going to increase at record levels and harm the harvests of staple crops to such a level that there will be famine in all parts of the world.

The majority of the affected will be the citizens of those poor and densely inhabited regions of the equatorial belt. They are already suffering from a severe food crisis and I can’t even imagine what the still worse of the present situation could be.

Have you ever heard of the prolonged summer of USSR in 1972? It affected the global cereal market for two years. The situations would be hundred times worse than that.

The Pollution behind Outspreading Technology

Global PC penetration is increasing rapidly. People are crazy after mobile phones and other portable gadgets like iPhones, laptops, etc. It is hard to find people without a TV or refrigerator in the nation.

All these news about outspreading technology products are true and may sound good, but not for longer time. You may be using a brand new mobile phone which is rocking the mobile market. How likely is it that you will use that mobile for more than 10 years?

As you are going to buy a new gadget after you are worn out of this mobile, what are you going to do with it? I bet it will go into garbage. And no where from there. They are not going to vanish into thin air from the garbage. They continue to exist on the earth longer than you.

There are many other electronic devices like digital cameras, computers, PDA’s, etc. which are going to prevail the same way as the cell phones.

Mamma Mia Beats Titanic Record in UK

Everyone knows that Titanic is one of the biggest movie in the world. But the recently released “Mamma Mia” movie has beaked the Titanic record in UK. In UK titanic has collected £69,025,646 and Mamma Mia overtaken it by collecting £69,068,073.

The movie already completed twenty-three weeks and it stood number one in almost sixteen countries. It also crossed the £580 million mark and became one of the universal’s top grossing movies. The movie sold £106 million worth of tickets.

The film is directed by the Phyllida Lloyd and the star cast in the film is Meryl Streep and Colin Firth. This movie has got the rating of 7 out of 10. The film got a mixed response on the released day. The previous film of Phyllida Lloyd is Gloriana. This was also a huge hit at the box office.

By knowing this I felt surprised because since 10 years no movie has broken the record of Titanic but Mamma Mia which got a divide response broken the record.

Laid Off? See What You Get

This seems to be the layoff season rather than holiday season. While many companies have issued pink slips to many of their employees many are still planning to do it.

But it is the poor employees who are suffering even it’s not their mistake. The number of jobless is increasing everyday.

What happens to an employee when he is laid off? What about his bills and expenses? We have some benefits for the unemployed which may help them sail through this. Recently government has approved a bill which pays additional benefits to the unemployed including additional 20 week pay.

People can cash on their unused leaves, but many times it depends upon the company and its policies.

Companies are entitled to reimburse the expenses made by the employees, in most situations.

All these deal with what you get. People should be well prepared for any situations as the present conditions are unable to be predicted.

And in the last stage it spreads outside the abdomen and inside the liver. So it is better to find the disease in the early stages and get the treatment before it spreads overall the body.

Why Should You Take Care About Your Sitting Position?

Body language and sitting positions are important because, they convey the information to others. Standing with arms crossed indicates sense of being 'closed'. It also shows anger, obstinacy and assertiveness. Your feet play an essential role in communication. As a general rule, if you are standing or sitting and are attracted to someone, eventhough if you are not talking with them, your feet will be pointing in their direction.

You can control your body language when you are aware of it. Stage actors are perfect example of this; when an actor is trained, one of the first behaviors learned is how to convey emotion with your body. Not just the face, but the whole body.

Rubbing the back of the head indicates that you're reassuring yourself when distressed it shows impatience. And standing on the hip indicates monotony or vanity. When hands are hold closed together it indicates humility and high esteem.

Like wise there are various meanings for various gesticulations. You may be surprised if you read those. I suggest you to go through those and know how to behave in a group, or in an interview, or in a business meeting, or even when you go out for a dinner date!

Global Deforestation Causes Global Destruction

Deforestation has increased rapidly and now we hardly find trees and plants near to our living area. We can even calculate the consequences of deforestation upon the humankind. It was very bad and impact will be very high on us. Global ecological imbalance is one of the effects for converting forest land as per the desire of the human and this can greatly lead to biodiversity destruction.

Strong and profound impact is seen on humankind due to the deforestation. Forests are turned into many undesired ways like barren lands, tarnished harvests, road constructions and many more. Many consequences are to be faced by humankind because of the deforestation. El nino is said to be one of that. Fast melting of ice-caps at poles, depletion of Ozone, forest fires, super hurricanes are just few of the other disasters.

Now everyone feels nothing can save us from the dangerous consequences of deforestation unless we immediately reverse the process of deforestation.
